The beginning of the year is a great time to focus on keeping yourself stress-free and focused on what’s to come. Whatever happened last year that you wish to keep in the past or forget -- do just that. Stress robs us of the joy that we deserve in life and we must not let our peace be disturbed, no matter the circumstance. I know that that may be easier said than done, but I am a master at busting stress, so I have a few great tips on how to keep your stress level under control. Check it out!

  1. Don’t neglect your “Me Time” – Too often, we neglect to take time for ourselves. We must put time aside to do the things we love – with you and only you! Whether that means going to the movies alone or shutting off your phone and curling up with a classic novel, you owe it to yourself.
  1. Exercise! – While this may not be a favorite for many, exercising has been scientifically proven to lower stress levels.

  1. Enjoy the great outdoors – Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of life, we forget to take the time to admire the beauty that is around us. Taking a short walk outside or by a lake is a great way to de-stress. The beauty of nature can be extremely serene.
  2. Rest up! – Getting the proper level of rest can greatly reduce stress and anxiety levels. Try to get a good 8 hours of sleep so that you are rejuvenated in the morning and ready to tackle whatever may come your way. This one is a struggle for me because I love staying up late to watch Forensic Files!
