Shane McKay

Associate Attorney

Shane McKay is an Associate Attorney with Pacific Workers’ Compensation Law Center. Shane was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He earned a B.A. in English at the University of Washington, where he graduated cum laude, and received his J.D. from University of California, Los Angeles. During law school, he received a grant for public interest legal work. Mr. McKay has practiced law for over a decade and has five years of experience in California Workers’ Compensation. He began his legal career as a public defender, and spent some years running his own criminal and civil law practice.

In his time as a Workers’ Compensation practitioner, Mr. McKay has served as an Associate Attorney at several large firms, including Michael Sullivan & Associates. His in-depth knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, both from an applicant and defense perspective, makes him a valuable asset for Pacific Workers’ Compensation’s clients.

Shane is passionate about the outdoors. In his free time, he runs, hikes, and coaches soccer. He has worked for LegalAid helping indigent persons defend against eviction and unfair debt collection practices. He’s done pro-bono work helping underinsured fire victims. Mr. McKay resides in Alameda with his wife and their two children.
